Danoja Zho means Long Time Ago House in the language of the Tr'ondek Hwech'in. The centre houses meeting rooms, performance spaces and an interactive gallery. It is normally closed in the winter months, but the friendly staff are happy to open the display area to special visitors, like the writer and her consort.
Furs and a birch bark canoe, with a small sign inviting the viewer to touch. Nothing sterile about this display.
