Ferry service ended last night with little advance notice.
Normally they like to give twenty-four hours notice,
but this time it was about six.
The ferry came out of the river this afternoon at 4 p.m.
about five days ahead of last year's removal date.
I watched the process with Dan Davidson,
editor of the local paper: The Klondike Sun.
editor of the local paper: The Klondike Sun.
It was cold so his warm vehicle was appreciated!
It's a complicated affair getting the ferry out of the water, involving pulleys, tractors, graders
and a bunch of men in hard hats.
